Course Description:

This module explores the ethical principles of contemporary nursing practice. Nurses are required to work within complex, responsive and potentially ethically challenging situations and therefore need an underpinning knowledge of such matters. This module will therefore consider personal and philosophical ethics including moral issues and judgements.  Four principles, autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice will be covered in depth along with utilitarianism, deontology, and virtue theory.
